Overview
Under direct supervision of the Controller, the Tax Accountant is accountable for the for the management of tax credit operations and tax returns of the company and all subsidiaries in addition to investment accounting and maintaining the personal financial statements of the partners. The Tax Accountant will work with employees in the Springfield office and also other company employees across various physical and satellite offices. This position requires excellent organization and communication skills. Acute attention to detail and deadline management are essential functions of the Tax Accountant position.

- Manage tax returns process and tax credit operations, including tax credit projections
- Responsible for investment accounting and personal financial statements of the partners
- Assist with transactional due diligence, document review, technical and process support including but not limited to reviews of cost certifications and 8609s for third party syndication
- Coordinate treasury activities including but not limited to initiation and approval of wire transfers and bank transactions
- Assist in management of audit and accounting firm relationships for the company
- Assist in management the banking and other finance relationships for the company
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner
- Other special projects as requested by the Controller

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance plus two plus years’ related experience
- CPA preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (preferably Office 365), SharePoint and Great Plains or similar accounting software
- Efficient time management and ability to prioritize
- Proficiency in a variety of accounting and finance functions
- Manage responsibilities in order to meet deadlines while keeping Supervisor aware of progress
- Respond to special requests for accounting information in a friendly manner
- Participate in department meetings, providing input and receiving information
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- High ethical standards including maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
