Gardner Capital, Inc. is a growing company focused on the development and syndication of affordable housing investments. Under direction from the SVP of Underwriting, the Underwriting Analyst will support real estate development efforts by aiding in the closing of an expanding portfolio of equity investments to be financed with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (‘LIHTC’).
Job Duties
• Prepares and updates real estate investment projections
• Completes and maintains various internal reports in GCI’s proprietary database
• Reviews due diligence documents
• Collects real estate and tax credit documents needed for real estate transaction closings
• Manages transaction checklists and files documents internally and externally for investors
• Provides closing documents as requested to Accounting and Legal Departments
• Participates in deal closing calls
• Assists the SVP of Underwriting with other projects, as necessary
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Real Estate, Economics or Accounting
• LIHTC and/or Multifamily development experience is preferred.
• Experience with reviewing and/or creating real estate proformas
• Highly organized with effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment; able to work with colleagues remotely
• Highly proficient in MS Excel with experience in Excel modeling
• Excellent personal organizational skills
Conditions
• Position is located in our Clayton, MO office (St. Louis)
• Reports to the Senior Vice President of Underwriting; duties often coordinated with other Underwriters and Analysts
• Occasional travel as required
• Pay and benefits commensurate with experience
