Human Resources Manager

Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. This includes, but is not limited to, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, and policy implementation. This position requires excellent organization and communication skills. Acute attention to detail and deadline management are essential functions of the position.

Job Duties

  • Develops and administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel
  • Recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures
  • Performs benefits administration to include negotiating rates, performing enrollments, COBRA administration and employee education
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt employees; writes and places advertisements, conducts initial screens, works with hiring managers to schedule and interview candidates, conducts reference checking and extending job offers
  • Maintains departmental records and reports, including payroll and employee files
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus three plus years’ related experience in a human resources role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (preferably Office 365), SharePoint
  • Proficiency in a variety of Human Resource functions
  • Experience working with ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS software preferred
  • Efficient time management and ability to prioritize
  • Manage responsibilities in order to meet deadlines while keeping Supervisor aware of progress
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • High ethical standards including maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
