Fourth Street Lofts - St. Joseph, Missouri

In 2004, Carlson Gardner, Inc. began the historic restoration of the 1880 Englehart, Winning Facade Property, and the adjacent Pilgram Building in downtown St. Joseph, Missouri. At that time, the Facade building consisted of only a facade. The structure behind the facade was destroyed several years ago and the preservation of the facade was a matter of highest priority for the City of St. Joseph. The Pilgram Building was intact, but had been closed for several years.

These buildings were constructed in the late 1800's in the garment district of St. Joseph. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Wholesale Row Historic District, the buildings are situated in one of the few entire blocks of vintage Victorian warehouse buildings still standing in Missouri. In fact, the district is said to be the only intact architectural example of its kind left in the country.
